First came The Twilight Sad, then Frightened Rabbit, then Glasvegas and now another great Scottish band, We Were Promised Jetpacks.  Yes, they have a very stupid name, but they are a damn good band!  And last night they brought it to the Hi-Dive.

I was originally going to the show alone, but my wife and some friends decided to come.  We got down to South Broadway around 8pm and the show was already sold-out.   It’s great to see these guys have a good following, but since my wife and friends did not have tickets, they had drinks next door while I caught the show.

Even though I was impressed with their performance, I only stayed for a half hour.  Hi-Dive is not my favorite venue and their soundsystem had a hard time keeping up with the louder than expected Jetpacks…not to mention I had to get back next door.

That all being said, I highly recommend seeing these guys.  Out of all the Scottish bands mentioned above, these guys are probably the best live.
