If you were not disappointed by Sage Francis‘ show at The Gothic last night, you either had never seen him before, just became a fan with the new album or you weren’t there. I’m sorry I have to be so blunt about this, but he came out on stage wearing a full suit to a

I was as excited as a little girl at a Justin Bieber concert when The National took the stage at the beautiful Spreckels Theatre in San Diego and played the first few chords of Start A War. This was the start of a show that would end up being one of the best shows I

There were a couple firsts at Larimer Lounge last night. It was the first time I showed up at that particular venue while it was still daylight, it was the first time I had attended a sold-out show there and it was the first time I hung out a full show with someone I met

The tallest man in the world is over 8ft. tall. Kristian Matsson of Dalarna, Sweden is not that man. Even though he performs under The Tallest Man On Earth moniker, the folk-singer stands around 5 1/2 ft. tall. That being said, it doesn’t really matter what he calls himself, because his voice and songwriting skills are some

Sublime was just as much about a time and place as it was about the music. Bradley, Bud and Eric defined Southern California is the mid-90s. This was a time when Offspring and Green Day ruled the radio with Smash and Dookie. It was a time when punk was making a comeback in a pop

The first time I saw the name Ani DiFranco it was on a poster on the wall in front of Lou’s Records in Encinitas, CA. It was 1995 and the poster was for Dilate. It had Ani crouched down in a corner with her face hidden by multi-colored braided hair. She looked pretty punk rock,
